Canadian jewelry regulations
SOR/2018-82
Canada’s Children’s Jewelry Regulations (SOR/2018-82) stipulate that the total lead content in jewelry for children under 15 years old shall not exceed 600 mg/kg, and the soluble lead shall not exceed 90 mg/kg. According to the Canadian official website, the limit will be further tightened and become stricter. In addition, Health Canada also promulgated the Mercury-Containing Consumer Products Regulations, and also proposed to limit the cadmium content in children's jewelry to 130ppm.
